Careful consideration is given to the selection of our Rams.

Every Ram was a twin himself and as a result we experience multiple twins resulting in our clients regularly achieving a lambing percentage of 160% plus.

Higher growth rates in Meat Plus lambs

Growth

From a low birth rate MEAT PLUS lambs achieve high growth rates to 60kg. In a normal season we are seeing the following age / liveweight milestones:

  • Birth weight 3-4kg
  • 12 weeks 36-46kg
  • 20 weeks 50-60kg

MEAT PLUS have the ability to self-replace from numerous breeds which, combined with the high lambing %, enables a quick mob rebuild.

  • A Clean Breech to avoid fly strike

The industry average for dressing % is 46 – 47%.
MEAT PLUS lambs consistently achieve a dressing % of 49-52% which some processors understand and will pay a premium in the marketplace for.
